What's this all about?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication – but that isn't something you need to worry about.
RSS is simply technology that creates text and audio content feeds. When you see one of these feeds on a site, you can subscribe to it to receive updated content automatically.
To use RSS feeds you will need a reader. The reader checks the feeds you are subscribed to and displays any new content. This means you don't have to check individual websites for updates - the reader does it for you.
You can get hold of a reader by downloading one to your computer.
